CP82C54 Description générale
CP82C54 is a programmable interval timer (PIT) chip made by Intel. It is commonly used in microprocessor-based systems for generating precise time delays and for updating real-time clocks. The CP82C54 has three 16-bit counters that can be programmed independently to operate in different modes.The CP82C54 has a variety of operating modes including square wave generation, rate generation, and interval measurement. In square wave generation mode, the chip can output square wave signals with frequencies ranging from a few Hz to several MHz. In rate generation mode, the chip can generate pulses at a specified frequency to trigger external events.
